NYCHA Playgrounds Are Now Open!

Some welcome news to children across the city: NYCHA playgrounds are now open again, per guidance from Mayor Bill de Blasio. To protect everyone’s health and safety, please keep these guidelines in mind when enjoying them:

  • Wear a face covering;
  • Maintain social distance of 6 feet between each child who does NOT live in the same household;
  • If you are sick or if your child is sick, please stay home;
  • Wash your hands frequently;
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes;
  • Do not touch your face; and
  • Remember that playgrounds are not sanitized.

Please note that any water sprinklers at playgrounds will remain turned off. In addition, any playgrounds that were closed due to safety concerns will remain closed until those issues can be addressed.
