NYCHA Celebrates National Night Out

On August 2, New York City Police Department (NYPD) precincts celebrated the 39th annual National Night Out by hosting events in the communities they serve across the city. National Night Out brings together community members and their local police precincts to help strengthen relationships and promote safer, stronger neighborhoods. Each of the nine Police Service Areas (PSA) that serve NYCHA developments marked the occasion with entertainment, contests, refreshments, and safety information, and they were joined by NYCHA staff, residents, resident association members, elected officials, and other community partners.

Some of the staff members in attendance included NYCHA’s new Chief Operating Officer Eva Trimble, who visited Patterson Houses in the Bronx; new Deputy Chief Operating Officer Marvin Walton, who visited Fulton Houses in Manhattan; and Vice President of Public Safety & Security James Secreto, who visited Queensbridge Houses. Several NYCHA staff members presented proclamations from Mayor Eric Adams to recognize the PSAs for their efforts in service to the community.
