General Manager Vito Mustaciuolo ushered in the Lunar New Year with NYCHA’s Chinese-American Association on February 14 at the Jing Fong restaurant in Manhattan’s Chinatown. About 200 employees and guests enjoyed a nine-course banquet, Chinese dance performances, a tai chi demonstration, and a visit from ancient China’s “King of Fortune.”
General Manager Mustaciuolo delivered greetings from Mayor Bill de Blasio. And in welcoming the year 4717, GM Mustaciuolo noted that “the Year of the Pig represents hard work, reliability, and discipline – the very qualities that drive us as we continue to transform NYCHA and carry out our mission of providing safe, clean, and connected communities for residents.”
This year’s special honoree, Larry Lee, grew up in Smith Houses; he went on to serve New Yorkers in a remarkable career as a social worker, community leader, educator, and advocate.
