Going Above and Beyond

Celebrating NYCHA Heroes

1010 East 178th St. Consolidation Property Manager Angelinah Adegboyega praised Supervising Housing Groundskeeper Andres Rodriguez and his grounds team:

“Tropical Storm Isaias hit the city, and the 1010 East 178th Street consolidated development was not spared – there were downed trees and branches.

“With all the trees that needed to be cut and debris left behind throughout the city, it seemed that it would take some time before the tree repair vendor could address the damage.

“But Supervising Housing Groundskeeper Andres Rodriguez jumped into action and took on the challenge with his grounds crew: Melvyn Nieves (Caretaker G) and Albert Roach (Seasonal Staffperson). Within a few days, the fallen trees and branches were cut and taken out of the location by Mr. Rodriguez and his staff. The development has been restored and children are safely and happily playing in the playground area.

“Purchase orders utilized to address the issue are getting cancelled/revised because Mr. Rodriguez took the initiative to restore safety to our development.”
