Discussing Data Sharing with NYCHA’s Chief Information Officer

NYCHA’s Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer Patti Bayross recently participated in City & State’s Creating a Culture of Data Sharing panel, which brought together data and information leaders in public service to discuss how to foster a data-sharing culture in government.

Ms. Bayross spoke about how information technology and data sharing at NYCHA are helping to improve the Authority’s services and enabling it to better connect with residents. “NYCHA uses data for a variety of reasons – community engagement, residents’ public safety, community health, and more,” Ms. Bayross said during the discussion. “By sharing the data, NYCHA also offers transparency and accountability regarding the services it provides.”

The other panel participants were Martha Norrick, Chief Analytics Officer and Director at the Mayor’s Office of Data Analytics; Carlos Rivero, Vice President of Data and Analytics at GCOM Software and Former Chief Data Officer of the Commonwealth of Virginia; Benny Thottam, Chief Information Officer at the New York City Fire Department; Deshard Stevens, Chief Information Officer at the New York City Commission on Human Rights; Council Member Jennifer Gutierrez, Chair of the Technology Committee; and Andrew White, Deputy Commissioner for Policy, Planning, and Measurement at the New York City Administration for Children’s Services.
