Governor of Tokyo Tours NYCHA

Governor Yuriko Koike of Tokyo recently visited NYCHA’s Berry Street–South 9th Street development in Williamsburg to learn about the Authority’s ongoing efforts to preserve and modernize affordable housing. Joined by NYCHA representatives and partners from Omni New York LLC and The Arker Companies, Governor Koike toured the property, which was part of NYCHA’s 2020 Brooklyn PACT transaction. That initiative secured more than $370 million in comprehensive renovations across nine Brooklyn developments, bringing critical upgrades to apartments, building and security systems, and community spaces while preserving long-term affordability and resident rights.
