Vlada Kenniff Named to Top 100 List of Environment and Energy Leaders

Vlada Kenniff, NYCHA’s Vice President for Energy and Sustainability, was recently selected as an honoree on the “Environment+Energy Leader 100” list for 2021.

Environment+Energy Leader is a publication that covers environmental, energy, and sustainability news. Now in its fifth year, the “Environment+Energy Leader 100” recognizes environment and energy professionals who are pioneering new solutions, programs, platforms, best practices, and products to help their organizations – or their partners – achieve greater success with environment and energy management.

“The honorees on the annual list show groundbreaking work and dedication to the field of sustainability and energy management,” said Paul Nastu, President of Environment+Energy  Leader. “We’re thrilled to recognize this year’s honorees and congratulate all who made the list.”

Ms. Kenniff is responsible for leading NYCHA’s comprehensive Sustainability Agenda, which outlines ways the Authority can reduce energy and resource consumption and its carbon footprint while improving resident health and wellbeing. As part of this work, Ms. Kenniff and her team manage a portfolio of energy- and sustainability-related capital projects totaling more than $1 billion.

She began working at NYCHA in 2017 as the Director of Sustainability, designing and managing sustainability initiatives in areas ranging from water conservation, stormwater management, waste reduction, and renewable energy to resident-led programs.

Before joining NYCHA, Ms. Kenniff spent over a decade at the City’s Department of Environmental Protection, where she managed a portfolio of integrated water management planning and capital projects.

Honorees for the “Environment+Energy Leader 100” are nominated by Environment+Energy Leader readers and others who work in the industry. The 2021 class will be celebrated at the publication’s virtual Solutions Summit in July 2022.
