NYCHA’s Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Finance Annika Lescott-Martinez has been named to the 2022 class of Crain’s New York Business 40 Under 40.
Established in 1988, the publication’s annual 40 Under 40 list celebrates the most accomplished New York City-based business professionals under 40 years old. Ms. Lescott-Martinez, 34, who joined NYCHA in 2018 and has served in her role since February 2020, was announced as one of the newest members of the distinguished class in an article on November 7.
Highlighting the range of achievements of this year’s diverse group of honorees, Crain’s New York Business noted they are “championing the causes of New Yorkers who don’t always have a voice.” The young professionals represent a broad spectrum of industries and are selected from a field of hundreds of nominees from the surrounding New York City region and northern New Jersey.
Ms. Lescott-Martinez leads the financial planning and analysis, accounting, payroll, risk management, and investment activities of the Authority. She is also responsible for NYCHA’s fiscal policy and financial performance, including the $4 billion operating budget, $1 billion investment portfolio, and the issuance of NYCHA’s annual financial statements.
Prior to joining NYCHA, Ms. Lescott-Martinez was a Presidential Management Fellow in the Executive Office of the President of the United States, where she worked on non-partisan housing policy analysis and the President’s Budget under the Obama and Trump administrations.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
