Kudos to the MRST Team
NYCHA’s Maintenance, Repair & Skilled Trades Steps Up During COVID-19 Crisis
Kudos from Leon Agard, Director of Maintenance, Repair & Skilled Trades (MRST):
“I’d like to acknowledge the entire Maintenance, Repair & Skilled Trades team members who have been reporting to work unless they are sick or under quarantine. In addition, the entire Asbestos Handlers’ team and their supervisors deserve recognition. About 95 percent of their work is done in occupied apartments. They have not wavered in their assignments and continue to perform daily. Supervisor Dennis Satlov comes into the office every day and even goes out to the field to assist on jobs 24/7.
“There’s also a member of the team who is an inspiration to all of the staff during these difficult times with his upbeat, positive attitude: Dennis “Blue” Hope, Caretaker J.
“His supervisors have nothing but positive things to say about him:
‘Blue has been doing an amazing job in cleaning our work area, and electricians are very appreciative of his outstanding efforts during this crisis.’
‘Blue thoroughly sanitizes basement work areas, break areas, and locker room areas. He assists with the operation of the storeroom, distributing personal protective equipment during these rough times, and reports to work daily with a positive attitude that he maintains throughout the day.’
‘Blue is the most positive person in the entire building. When he stops to say, “Good morning, how are you?” he engages in the conversation with true concern. Through these hard times when we all need a sign of hope, he always has something uplifting to say and is always there when you need him for a task.’
‘Blue never complains about his assignments, doesn’t look for any excuses, and performs beyond expectations. He’s our go-to guy and is truly deserving of special commendation.’
“Again, thanks to Blue and the entire MRST team for going above and beyond during this crisis.”
