Kudos to Marcia Babb-Rhine, Administrative Manager in Community Development
Anette Barry, Financial Officer of the Saint Mary’s Park Houses Tenant Council (pictured above), sent the below letter about Marcia Babb-Rhine, Administrative Manager in NYCHA’s Community Development Department, who is enrolling seniors in the GetFoodNYC program during the pandemic.
Regarding her efforts, Ms. Babb-Rhine noted: “The seniors I enroll in the GetFoodNYC program are very happy to receive the meals, and are also very happy to talk. I call all the seniors that I register in the program once a week to see if they are receiving their meals and if everything is ok. If they want to talk, I engage with them in conversation. It is not just their pleasure to have someone to talk to in this time we are going through, but it is also a pleasure of mine.”
Dear Ms. Babb-Rhine,
Words cannot express how I feel with regard to the amount of dedication that you have extended me within the last month. I must admit that you have touched my heart and spirit in a way that I will never forget. Being able to talk to you is a true blessing; the fact that your listening skills are outstanding helps a lot. Through our countless conversations, I am totally convinced that you give new meaning to customer service. I have had the opportunity to work in two different professions where customer service is a key element with regards to daily work activity (Customer Service Officer in a major bank and Social Worker in a major hospital). That being said, you exude customer service so effortlessly, and to so many of us at this particular time, you are a true angel.
Ms. Babb-Rhine, thank you, thank you, thank you for your profound dedication to the tenants of NYCHA. You are a blessing and a true gem. I will never forget you.
