Celebrating NYCHA Heroes in the Bronx
Complimenting Felix Colon & George Ramirez, Supervisors of Grounds
From Kim Theodore, Regional Asset Manager, Bronx Property Management:
“There are two employees I want to recognize in the Bronx for outstanding work performance. They are both Supervisors of Grounds (SOG) who held down their developments when other supervisors were out due to COVID-19.
“Felix Colon has been a NYCHA employee for 26 years. He currently serves as a Supervisor of Grounds at Adams Houses. He is quite an asset to Adams Houses – his quick thinking, willingness, and overall leadership is impressive and does not go unnoticed. He never hesitates when called upon and takes on the responsibilities of the other supervisory staff who were out sick due to COVID-19. Every report that is due is sent on time, whether it’s from Management or Maintenance. He even answers his phone on his days off and assists with whatever is needed. Felix Colon has risen above and beyond during this pandemic and continues to do so.
“George Ramirez, SOG at Claremont Consolidated, is an amazing employee. He has been employed with NYCHA for six years and has been a Supervisor of Grounds for one year. During this pandemic, George has truly demonstrated his leadership. Due to the pandemic, many management staff were out sick. George Ramirez stepped up as the only supervisor on duty and did everything that he could. He ran maintenance and janitorial and made sure every report was sent to his borough office on time. He never complained. When another supervisor covered for him on his day off, he still acted as the point person to answer certain questions and give directions to keep the development running from his home.”
