Alternative Work Schedule Rollout Continues
Alternative Work Schedule (AWS) launched April 1 at 13 consolidated developments: Farragut, Ingersoll, Marcy, Stuyvesant, Tompkins, and Whitman Houses in Brooklyn and Clinton, Dyckman, Harlem River, Polo Grounds Towers, Rangel, Riis, and Saint Nicholas Houses in Manhattan. It’s a new way of scheduling certain front-line staff: caretakers, their supervisors, assistant resident building superintendents, and resident building superintendents work at our buildings from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week, through five staggered schedules.
AWS will be rolled out to all our developments within the next year. It’s coming next to 39 consolidated developments (see below) this summer. Starting April 29, all staff (except those who work at AWS phase 1 and 2 developments) can visit this link to indicate their preference for working an AWS schedule at one of the 39 phase 2 consolidations.
Click here for more details about the schedules and benefits, which include a one-time taxable bonus of $1,500 for current staff and a shift differential for weekend hours worked as part of certain schedules. If you have any questions about AWS, you can speak with your supervisor, call AskHR at 212-306-8000, or send an email to AWS@nycha.nyc.gov.
