Dedicated to Service and Improving Quality of Life for Residents
Dear Colleagues,
With the recently announced resignation of the First Deputy Mayor who oversees the housing portfolio, it is as important as ever to reaffirm NYCHA’s commitment to meeting its obligations under the 2019 HUD Agreement, as well as to serving the hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers supported by our public housing and Section 8 programs. We remain unequivocally focused on this work and have a dedicated executive and senior team who will continue to lead NYCHA through any uncertainty. We also have many elected and community leaders across the State who remain steadfast in their advocacy for public housing, its preservation, and its transformation. Our progress and success are tied to the dedication of our staff, and the strong partnerships we have built over time – and these mutual efforts and collaboration will go on.
As public servants, we have collectively chosen this career to promote the greater good and to help drive policies and programs that directly touch the lives of New Yorkers. We will not allow anything to detract from or diminish these goals. We value your contributions to NYCHA and to the City of New York. They are noticed and make a difference on a daily basis.
With thanks and admiration,
Lisa Bova-Hiatt
Chief Executive Officer
