Holiday Volunteering

Dear Colleagues,

We need your assistance!

2016 Thanksgiving at Grant Houses
Last year, Chair Shola Olatoye (left) and the Resident Engagement Department’s Kathleen Fitzpatrick, Patricia Jefferson, and Amadi Tittle (right) prepared turkey dinners at Grant Houses with other volunteers.

There are gas outages at some of our developments, and service will not be restored by Thanksgiving. To ensure that our residents enjoy a holiday meal, we are delivering meals to them. In addition, we will also be hosting a toy drive for the families impacted by the gas outages. In order for this effort to be successful, we need volunteers to help package and distribute meals, wrap gifts, and distribute them on the day of the event. The hours for volunteering will be after work from 5pm to 9pm.

We need volunteers for the following dates:

  • Wednesday, November 22 (day before Thanksgiving), 5pm – 9pm
  • Thursday, November 23 (Thanksgiving Day), 9am – 12pm
  • Thursday, December 21 or Friday, December 22, 5pm – 9pm

If you are interested in volunteering please complete this survey. We will inform you by Tuesday, November 21 of the volunteer assignments.

Our core values tell us that we respect our residents. Thank you for always going the extra mile to make their holidays special!  Your generosity of spirit reflects the values that make NYCHA so special.

Best,

Employee Engagement
