The Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) recognized NYCHA’s excellence in managing a $5 million security enhancement project with the 2017 CMAA Project Achievement Award in the category of residential/mixed-use construction under $10 million.

To improve residents’ security and quality of life, NYCHA installed 239 CCTV cameras and layered access control at 45 buildings in 10 developments in Brooklyn and Staten Island.

NYCHA wasn’t on hand to receive the award at the October 10 ceremony in Washington, DC, so STV, Inc., the construction manager that supported the completion of the work, accepted it on NYCHA’s behalf. STV bestowed the award to NYCHA during a lively December 11 presentation at 250 Broadway.

“This award represents the good work of NYCHA’s Capital Projects Division in delivering quality construction projects on time and under budget,” remarked Executive Vice President for Capital Projects Deborah Goddard. “We’re thankful for our collaboration with STV, Inc., one of our valued partners. STV was recently selected to provide training on the latest construction management standards and practices to all CPD project management staff, supporting their professional development and NYCHA’s efforts to create safe, clean, and connected communities for residents.”

In the past few years, NYCHA has also received several awards from the regional chapter of the CMAA.
